BlackBerry Messenger dikabarkan akan hadi di iOS dan Andorid pada tangga 27 Juni, hal ini berdasarkan tweet resmi dari T-Mobile. Tweet yang disertai dengan gambar BBM padasmartphone Samsung Galaxy.

BBM di platform lain awalnya akan menawarkan hanya messagging, namun CEO BlackBerry Thorsten Heins mengatakan akan menambahkan lebih banyak fitur dari waktu ke waktu, termaksud layar berbagi, suara BBM dan saluran BBM baru. Langkah ini merupakan langkah berani yang di ambil oleh BlackBerry melihat BBM merupakan produk unggulan BlackBerry. Namun, langkah tersebut adalah resiko yang sudah diperhintungkan, dan akan dibuka untuk platform lain.
Update: Business Insider says this date is "incorrect" according to its own sources close to the company. We’re still waiting to hear bak from our own sources with any additional info.
Update 2: BlackBerry has responded with a reaffirmation that they haven’t yet announced an official date, but T-Mobile UK still hasn’t retracted, removed or added more context to its tweet (update within the update: and now the T-Mobile UK tweet has been deleted)
Techcrunch: We haven’t announced a date other than BBM for iOS and Android is coming this summer.
